A Trip To Aruba

One of the three ABC islands also known as the Dutch Caribbean. Aruba is the perfect paradise to get away and enjoy your time. Miles of powder white sand beaches await you on the Western and Southern coasts of the island.

Upon arriving in Aruba you have a few options on where you can stay depending on your lifestyle. Palm Beach is the most popular with most of the top resorts located here along the 2 miles of beach. I stayed at the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort and was centrally located in the heart of Palm Beach with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. This hotel was absolutely beautiful. Eagle Beach is another great option if you want to get away from the larger resorts. This area offers smaller, more intimate hotels along the 1.2 miles of beach.

Getting around Aruba I recommend renting a car if you want to see and do things on your own time. One option is the Arubus which runs every 15 minutes from 6am-6pm, and every 40 minutes from 6pm-11pm. Getting a cab is another option but can end up costing you more if you don’t intend to stay near your hotel for the duration of your trip. The prices are fixed depending on where you're going. From the airport to Palm Beach the cost is roughly $25-$30. To Eagle Beach $20-$25.

Once you have settled into your hotel, it's time to explore this beautiful island. Plenty of things to do, see, eat and drink. I recommend starting your adventure at the California Lighthouse, located at the Northwestern tip of Aruba. The tallest structure on Aruba standing at 98 feet, you must walk up 123 stairs to the top of the spiraling staircase to get absolutely stunning 360 degree views of Aruba and the surrounding area. At the bottom of the lighthouse I recommend grabbing a Pina Colada in a coconut from Yum Yum’s Place.

Eagle beach is worth checking out for the Fofoti Trees. These trees grow right on the beach and have a distinct look to them due to the constant winds from the ocean and provide a beautiful landscape to take a photo or two.

A must to do when visiting Aruba is the Arikok National Park. 20% of the island is home to this Park. When arriving a small fee to enter is required and goes towards the preservation of this land. There is plenty to see here, including caves, hiking trails, plantation ruins, gold mines, secluded bays and much more!

If your a foodie I recommend for dinner trying Azia for the best Sushi, Barefoot for a sunset beach dinner with an incredible atmosphere, Bohemian for tapas and live music, Pincho’s for seafood on a pier, Giannis for Italian, or Daniel’s Chophouse for the best steak.

Before you leave Aruba try to do a sunset cruise on a catamaran totally worth it! I hope you enjoy Aruba as much as my family and I did. Enjoy the moment and keep living your Leesurely Life!
